This article only conducts popular science on the performance parameters of LED lights and provides suggestions for purchase.
1. Luminous flux
This is the first important parameter of all lamps, and the standard definition is "derived amount of radiant flux for the evaluation of standard human visual characteristics in international regulations." For lamps, this parameter is "the sum of visible light emitted by the lamp per unit time". Unit: Lumen, symbol lm.
Purchase advice: For the same type of lamp, this parameter must exceed the minimum limit (pit), as high as possible, the better. (Note that too bright LED will cause serious glare, and eyes will be uncomfortable) The parameter that really determines the lighting quality is the illuminance-"the luminous flux of visible light received per unit area". It is more complicated to reverse the luminous flux limit from this parameter limit. , Need to consider the type of lamp, light distribution curve, installation environment, height, etc., this pit is not filled. Here is a rough reference value. Standard incandescent lamp (without lampshade, standard light distribution) requires reading and writing (about 300lx at a distance of 0.75 meters, and an effective lighting area diameter of 1.8 meters), which requires 900LM.
This important parameter is generally marked in an unimportant position, and some small factories simply do not mark it, so remember his unit symbol "LM", otherwise you will not recognize this parameter.
2. Power
This parameter is the power consumption per hour of the lamp, everyone knows this, the smaller the better, not much to say.
Purchase advice: When the luminous flux meets the demand, the smaller the power, the better. (If the heat dissipation of high-power lamps is not properly handled, it will seriously reduce the life of the lamps) This parameter is generally marked with eye-catching marks, and sales staff also use it to distinguish the "brightness" of the lamps. The importance of this parameter is second only to luminous flux.
Three, color temperature
The definition is too complicated, so slightly. The color temperature value under natural light is directly given as a contrast.
Sunrise: 1900K. Noon sunshine: 5500K. 6500K of sunlight in a clear sky at noon. Incandescent lamp: 3000K
Purchase advice: Generally, the color temperature of LED lamps is between 4000K-5000K. In the bedroom and other places that need a sense of sentiment and comfort, choose 2700K-3000K.
LED lights with high color temperature (above 5700K) look whiter, giving people the illusion of "higher color temperature and brighter". The blue light of high color temperature LED lights is more harmful. The light with low color temperature is yellowish, giving people a warm and comfortable feeling.
Four, color rendering index Ra
We call the degree of the light source to the true color of the object as the color rendering of the light source. The standard of measurement is the color rendering index. The higher the index, the less distortion of the colors seen, and the color rendering index of sunlight is specified as 100.
Purchase opinion: National standard stipulates that the daily use requirement Ra is greater than 80. If you are engaged in color-related work, then the color rendering index of the lamps must be very high, so you can only choose incandescent lamps, even if the color rendering index of other types of lamps can reach 95, don't buy it (the reason is too long).
Five, life
There are actually two parts to the life of the lamp, the shorter one is taken as the life of the whole lamp
1. The time required for the luminous flux of the whole lamp to decrease to 70% of the initial value
2. The time from ignition to burnt down of the whole lamp
For LED lamps, the second one is much shorter than the first one. The LED lifespan that is often claimed on the market is as long as 5W-10W hours, which refers to the first type of life time. The use of a single LED chip in a normal environment is far more than this life. The second test is the manufacturer's LED drive capability and heat dissipation design capability.
Purchase advice: Choose a lamp from a reliable brand manufacturer, the longer the nominal life, the better. Note: The life of most LED lights is marked as 10 years, but the calculation method is like this-the whole life of the lamp Y hours / lighting X hours per day = 10 years, this "light X hours per day" is a 10 years.
The national standard stipulates that the life of the whole lamp is greater than 25000 hours (the calculation of this time is more circumstantial, and the second item is avoided to a certain extent), and the time declared by each manufacturer ranges from 6000H to 25000H.
PS: The first term of traditional incandescent lamps (3000H) and fluorescent lamps (6000H) is much shorter than the second term, so many traditional lamps have reached the end of their life (luminous flux is unqualified), but they can still be lit and should be replaced in time.
Six, PF value
The PF value is the ratio of the actual power consumed by the lamp to the apparent power. This item is not a parameter of the quality of the lamp, but only related to the load of the power grid. Thanks to the low power consumption of the LED lamp, the impact is limited. However, some sales staff often claim that the higher the PF value, the more energy-saving and the better the quality of the lamps. This is unfounded.
Purchase advice: For low-power (below 10W) lamps, this parameter does not need to be considered. According to national regulations, the PF of lamps below 5W shall not be lower than 0.4, and the PF of lamps above 5W shall not be lower than 0.7.
7. Dimming performance
LED drivers can have a lot of playability, and there are many lamps in the market that claim to be able to adjust brightness, color temperature, color, and so on. All kinds of wifi, bluetooth and other adjustable LED lamps are toys with a freshness of 5 minutes. They cannot be used for lighting, and they are expensive, so it is not recommended to buy them. LED lamps with traditional dimmers have problems with matching dimmers, and it is also not recommended to buy them.
