What glass material is lens glass? Types and specific uses of optical glass
The glass has excellent performance and can be used in many occasions. Stained glass and hot-melt glass can be used in interior decoration, and the style is changeable; when you need to protect personal safety, it is suitable to use tempered glass, laminated glass and other safety glass; when you need to adjust the brightness and protect privacy, you may wish to use frosted glass and dimming Glass, convenient and durable. If you want to know what glass material is lens glass, what are the types and specific uses of optical glass, please see below.

1. What glass material is lens glass

The lens is made according to the law of light refraction. The lens is an optical element made of transparent material. The lens is a refracting lens, and its refractive surface is two spherical surfaces (part of the spherical surface), or one spherical surface (part of the spherical surface) and one plane The transparent body. It has real images and virtual images. Lenses can generally be divided into two categories: convex lenses and concave lenses. Convex lenses: thick in the middle and thin at the edges, there are three kinds of biconvex, plano-convex, and concave-convex; concave lenses: thin in the middle , With thick edges, there are three types of double-concave, flat-concave, and convex-concave.

Looking through the flat glass, there will be no refraction, whether it is a convex lens or a concave lens. Therefore, the flat glass is not, and the optical glass needs to be specially processed to become a lens with different optical requirements.

Unprocessed optical glass is called lens glass blank.

2. Types and specific uses of optical glass

According to different requirements, optical glass can be divided into three categories:

①Colorless optical glass-It is almost completely transparent in the visible and near-infrared quite wide band, and it is an optical glass that is used very much. According to the difference of refractive index and dispersion, there are hundreds of brands, which can be divided into two varieties, namely crown optical glass (represented by K) and flint optical glass (represented by F). Crown glass is borosilicate glass, which becomes flint glass after adding alumina. The main difference between the two is that the refractive index and dispersion of flint glass are very large, so spectroscopic components are mostly made of it.

②Radiation-resistant optical glass--has the properties of colorless optical glass, and can basically not change its performance under radiation irradiation. For optical instruments irradiated by gamma, its variety and brand are the same as those of colorless optical glass. Its chemical composition is based on colorless optical glass, and a small amount of cerium oxide is added to clean up the color center formed by high-energy radiation in the glass, so that the light absorption of this glass changes little after being irradiated.

③Colored optical glass-specific absorption or transmission properties for certain wavelengths of light. Also known as filter glass, there are more than one hundred varieties. The color filter can selectively absorb certain colors, and the neutral filter absorbs the light of all wavelengths the same, but it reduces the intensity of the beam without changing its color. The interference filter is based on the principle of light interference, which reflects unwanted colors instead of absorbing them.

A lens is an optical element made of a transparent material whose surface is a part of a spherical surface. The lens is composed of several lenses, including plastic and glass. Glass lenses are more expensive than plastic. Generally, the lens structures used for cameras are: 1P, 2P, 1G1P, 1G2P, 2G2P, 4G, etc. The more lenses, the higher the cost. Therefore, a high-quality camera should use a glass lens, and its imaging effect is better than a plastic lens. It plays an important role in astronomy, military, transportation, medicine, art and other fields.

Refraction, a common physical phenomenon, means that when an object or wave is shot from one medium obliquely into another medium, the speed changes and the angle is shifted. "Refraction" is not necessarily the same as "refraction of light", so although light (a kind of transverse wave) will change the direction of light due to the difference in "refractive index", the phenomenon of "refraction" cannot be used to prove that light is a kind of fluctuation. A common example is aiming. When passing through water, its angle will shift due to refraction.
