The light emitted by the LED main optical device is still too wide and weak for most applications to illuminate only certain surfaces. Therefore, most LED lights use secondary optics (lenses, reflectors, TIR optics, etc.) to capture all the light from the LED and increase its intensity. The most common LED lens is a convex lens placed around the LED. However, with the advancement of technology, other types of lenses have become increasingly common. There are square lenses, high dome lenses, medium dome lenses, and flat lenses. Each has its own light distribution and is installed on LED diodes.
